Hi Deborah,

I know my parents wanted a better life for me than they had growing up, and that was still a struggle as adults. However, they essentially sort of left me alone to raise myself, which was a lonely way to grow up, but didn't put so much emphasis on "NO you can't". Because of the turmoil in my family, I couldn't believe it when my mother told me "I envy this carefree time of your life. Enjoy it!" I though care free? though she couldn't know how the turmoil affected me and my siblings. Only once, when I cited my highest ambitions, did my Mother say "Don't hitch your wagon to a star"! I realized later that she thought the world would let me down.

I don't want other children and families to labor under those crushing illusions. I respect Mark Hamilton's writings and those which helped me to finish off most misconceptions and illusions, which when removed, enabled great growth and intuition of Self and Brain Power to flourish! This is really living!

Deborah, You have a beautiful way of expressing yourself. Perhaps THERE is a talent you might persue, if you haven't already!

Hello Deborah,
It sounds like your story was my story too. Except that your suppression occurred at home and mine in jail. The Chicanos are like family in gangs and jail. They have a political system in there of "cannot's" and "do not's" too. These rules cxreated a conditioned child of their gangs.
It appears now that we are on the same individualistic road toward romantic love and true prosperity and are discovering our essences.
Good luck and see you on the site.
